An impromptu session downtown presented a great opportunity to try out my (old) new film camera. Technically, I did my first several photo shoots on film, but I don’t know if I ever got them developed—an unforced error on my part. Many years later, I’ve rediscovered the joy of shooting film, which doubles as practice and a chance to test my skills without relying on some of the modern digital tech. I even found a great local lab to help with the processing part so I don’t lose any more photos.

It used to be competitive, but humans will always be human, so now it's just about getting behind the wheel of a couple of the newest Beemers.
Shot on iPhone
I never loved mobile photography. Coming from one of the first flip phones that had a camera attached to where we are now and having lived with everything in between, I have never favored phones for this. But too many times in life the phone is what I had and needed to make it work. I couldn't be happier for that and the memories attached to it, even if the resolution isn’t great.
But this year may be my first time seeing close parity to a modern mirrorless camera. There are some differences just because of the ergonomics, physics, and lenses, but I am now much more confident with getting good shots if all I have on me is a phone.
As an aspiring travel photographer, I could not ask for a better solution to get through the tight spots I may encounter on my travels.

La Playa de Venice
I haven’t been to LA in a long time and I didn’t get a chance to shoot the skate park then, so this is my redemption tour because everyone deserves a second chance, right?
