The Silence Isn't Over

Turn on the Darkness

What are you afraid of? Sure darkness robs us of one of our senses, but that heightens the others to compensate. It's in this quiet calm that we find serenity. Therefore it should be embraced. It's loud enough, bright enough and our lives are busy enough to make turning on the darkness tough at times.

The perception of darkness differs from the mere absence of light due to the effects of after images on perception. In perceiving, the eye is active, and the part of the retina that is unstimulated produces a complementary afterimage.

Good v. Evil

Light and dark are opposites, but they are commonly associated with good and evil. This is not a proper designation, as neither side is good or evil.

Followers of the dark tend to be those with pessimistic attitudes. But there’s another aspect, that of quiet, calm.

Darkness likes control.
