Escapism is the destruction of self

If you have an aspect of your life that you want to escape from, your wool gathering becomes the tool that lets you view yourself as a separate entity from the one that is living these circumstances.

What happens in our heads isn't private, just unspoken

Escapism is the opposite of mindfulness. It starts as an acute sting, but it eventually becomes a chronic condition.
